During my residency at Radio28 Creative Studios in Mexico City, I created two sculptures with contrasting themes.
The first sculpture was inspired by the resemblance of underground piping to arteries beneath the skin. I embedded children's toys from my youth in plaster, forming a subversive pathway in the gallery.
The second piece, made from sewn acrylic sheets and strips of my own clothing, bulges toward the viewer, evoking a feeling of expansion or rupture. It is a poignant reflection on my friend's battle with brain cancer.
